The Paper People

The Maasai phrase for foreigners "The Paper People" is insightful in many ways as it calls into context global topics of trade agreements, conservation, resource management, climate change, land rights and gender equity.

The stylized slabs are made from up-cycled paper pulp with a mood hinting at doomed civilizations starkly juxtaposed with rich embellishments to signify hope, ingenuity and wisdom. Through the inventive use of the endless barrage of junk-mail, I reveal that even the most mundane of resources can be used in fascinating ways and support the significant role we all play in protecting our planet.
